Recently, BJ’s Wholesale Club in Toms River hosted a staff volunteering event to collect and organize food to donate to Fulfill. Team Members wanted to celebrate a successful year by giving back to local children in need, so 70 Team Members along with their families came together for their annual Celebration. Together they were able to construct 1,000 snack packs in just over an hour! The employees enjoyed their volunteer and team building experience, and left the event feeling excited that they could make a difference in the lives of their neighbors.
Fulfill focuses on nutritional food and the healthy snack packs included: a water bottle, granola bar, fruit cup, and an additional low-calorie snack. The snacks were distributed to Fulfill’s Backpack Program partners. The Backpack Program provides nutritious, easily prepared meals to children in families who are struggling with hunger. The snack packs will be sent to local schools as a bonus with the Backpack Program deliveries, and also to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. Those who participated in the volunteer event helped to provide meals to children in 29 schools in Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
