When passionate individuals and organizations come together to support a cause, the results can be extraordinary. Third-party fundraisers, organized by individuals or organizations in the community to raise funds for a nonprofit organization like Fulfill, are a powerful way to make change!
Here, we recognize inspiring examples of how independent fundraising efforts have made a difference, proving that any organization, small or large, can be a changemaker:
Causeway CARes 5K
Long-time supporter of Fulfill, Causeway CARes, improves the lives of Ocean County residents by raising awareness of issues that affect them through several philanthropic initiatives. One major fundraiser is their annual 5K run and walk. Over the past seven years, this initiative has raised more than $145,000. This year Fulfill was one of the beneficiaries of the event, which raised a record-breaking $90,000, with $45,000 benefiting Fulfill. That donation has provided 135,000 meals to neighbors in need.
Springsteen on Sunday All Request Show
For the last 19 years, 107.1 The Boss radio host and one of Fulfill’s previous gala honorees Tom Cunningham, has hosted the “Springsteen on Sunday” All-Request Show. For a minimum donation of $25, listeners requested and dedicated Bruce Springsteen songs. This year, the show raised over $1,600.
River Rock ‘N Run 5K Relay
The third annual River Rock ‘N Run 5K Relay brought the community together as runners laced up for a cause! Local running enthusiast Adam Nalven spearheaded the effort, which raised over $7,000 and provided 21,000 meals to families in need during the Thanksgiving season.
Shark River Sunset Calendars
Local photographer David Schofield used his artistic talents to support Fulfill this holiday season. For the past nine years, David has created beautiful calendars, featuring photos of sunsets over the local Shark River. With sales continuing throughout December, David hopes to sell the last 25 calendars, which would make this fundraiser a record-breaker, raising over $5,000 for Fulfill. To purchase, email David at davyscho@gmail.com for pricing and to arrange payment, mailing and/or pickup.
These examples show how creativity and community spirit can come together to drive change. No matter how big or small your organization is, your efforts truly aid in our work of feeding the 103,000 residents in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
And the impact doesn’t stop there! Third-party fundraising efforts during the months of November and December will be doubled thanks to a match grant from the Grunin Foundation. Due to this match, three of these fundraisers, which occurred during the match period, will generate an estimated total of $27,200 in support of Fulfill!
