Celebrity Judges, Jersey Shore Restaurants and Local Teams Make the
First Annual Chop Hunger Competition a Huge Success
Fulfill (formerly The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties) teamed up with Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties and Johnson’s Restaurant Equipment for the First Annual “Chop Hunger” Competition, on Monday, November 4th, at Doolan’s Shore Club in Spring Lake Heights. Several teams competed to be the “Chop Hunger” Champion, a title that ultimately went to the Student Government Association Team from Monmouth University for its salmon and risotto dish.
Among the judges… Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2019 Ava Tortorici of Montclair, New Jersey Senator Vin Gopal, and 101.5 FM Radio Talk Show Host Eric Scott with the “Foodie Fridays” segment.
“It was a great night of fine food, drinks, friendly competition, and dancing to Brian Kirk and the Jirks. A special thank you to my friend, Celebrity Chef Joe Leone, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. The best part is we raised much needed funds to feed the 136,000 neighbors we serve in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, 50,000 of them children,” said Fulfill CEO and President Kim Guadagno, New Jersey’s First Lieutenant Governor.
The other four teams in this “Chopped” style LIVE competition were from Caneda’s White Rooster in Toms River, Fulfill in Neptune, Bayonne Community Bank, and Brookdale Community College.
