A Shout Out to ACME and the ACME Foundation!

Since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in mid-March, Fulfill has experienced a 40% spike in the demand for food from our neighbors who lost their jobs and experienced other hardships. Luckily, we have community partners like ACME and the ACME Foundation that have stepped up to help us feed children and their families struggling in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

ACME Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Community Relief Initiative addresses the demand head-on. Fulfill is thrilled to receive a grant from this initiative in the amount of $26,700 to specifically feed children during the summer months.

These funds will allow Fulfill to provide prepared breakfasts and lunches at five sites for 280 children per week, as well as shelf stable breakfasts and lunches at five other sites for an additional 210 children each month. More than 10,000 meals will be provided this summer to 490 at risk children not participating in other summer feeding programs. Fulfill will target children under the age of 12.

“Fulfill would like to thank ACME and its ACME Foundation for making a huge impact in the lives of children and their families at the Jersey Shore. There is no greater gift than the gift of nourishment, especially during these especially difficult times. We are grateful to be part of the Nourishing Neighbors Family!” said Fulfill CEO and President Kim Guadagno, the former Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey.

The Nourishing Neighbors Community Relief Initiative was established to help local families impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. Fulfill’s grant is part of the pledge by Albertsons Companies, the parent company of ACME, to donate $15 million to various non-profit organizations for this initiative.

In early April, Fulfill also received an additional ACME Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors grant for $10,000. A GIANT thank you to ACME and ACME Foundation for helping us feed our hungry neighbors in need during these unprecedented times.
