BJ’s Charitable Foundation provided a grant to The FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties that enabled seven of the FoodBank’s agencies to receive new freezer and refrigeration units.
BJ’s supported the importance of ensuring that perishable food remains safe as it travels from donation to distribution. A key challenge is at the “last mile” end of the supply chain, where agencies often lack the proper resources to get perishable foods to clients while it is still fresh and meets food safety standards.
Bradley Food Pantry received a 45 cubic foot double door refrigeration and freezer unit from this grant. This impactful donation will build the capacity at the Bradley Food Pantry enabling it to be more efficient in the acquisition, storage and distribution of perishable food.
