Fulfill Food Bank Announces Comedy Roast of Philanthropist and Board Member Jeremy Grunin
“Kick Out Hunger” to Raise Funds to Provide Food for People in Need During Pandemic
Neptune, NJ, March 16, 2022 – “Kick Out Hunger” – a comedy roast of Jeremy Grunin – will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at The Vogel – Count Basie for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey, beginning at 6:30 pm to benefit Fulfill Food Bank.
“The impact of Jeremy’s service to Fulfill, as Past Board Chair and current Board Member, has been tremendous. We look forward to a night of laughter and goodwill as we honor him and raise much-needed funds for Fulfill to provide food and social services for families, children, seniors, and veterans in need,” said Triada Stampas, CEO and President of Fulfill.
Jeremy is the president of Grunin Foundation, a nonprofit based in Toms River that works to improve the quality of life for all members of our community by using philanthropy to drive economic excellence at the Central Jersey Shore.
“It has been an honor for me to serve with Fulfill to support their mission of building food security in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. When they asked if I would consider being roasted in front of hundreds of people to help raise critical funds needed to alleviate hunger in our community, I didn’t hesitate in responding with an eager (but nervous) YES! Don’t miss the chance to join in on the laughs at my expense – all for an amazing cause,” said Grunin.
The Masters of Ceremony will be Ken Malagiere and the Roasters will be Jonathan Petro, Adam Philipson, Peter Rosario, Thomas Hayes, Sam Huber, Michael Duru, and Laura Grunin.
Fulfill has been providing food for families at the Jersey Shore for more than thirty years. Fulfill made sure our neighbors in need had nourishment during economic storms, Superstorm Sandy, and now the pandemic. We supply food to nearly 300 feeding agencies in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, including soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters, providing food for families, children, seniors, veterans, and more.
Fulfill is still experiencing high volume, currently serving 972,000 meals per month. In fact, the demand for food at the Jersey Shore is still 22% higher than before the pandemic.
Ending hunger in our communities is a complex challenge, so Fulfill provides a full suite of programs to provide the resources people need to become self-sufficient. Fulfill’s Resource Connections Team members assist with applications for SNAP (food stamps), affordable health care, and Medicaid. They also assist with affordable housing applications, budgeting and money management, utility expenses, and senior services.
Fulfill has earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for more than twelve consecutive years. This distinction means Fulfill, a 501 (c)3 charitable organization, outperformed most charities in America in areas of efficiency, fiscal integrity, and effectiveness. In fact, 95 cents of every dollar donated to Fulfill goes directly to feeding the hungry in our community.
