NEPTUNE, NJ – (April 16, 2018) –Fulfill (formerly The FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties), will join forces with NBC 4 New York / WNBC and Telemundo 47 / WNJU, Stop & Shop and eight regional food banks on Saturday, April 28 for the Feeding Our Families second annual food drive, one of the largest, single day, multi-state food drives in the Northeast. The food collection drive will take place at more than 250 local Stop & Shop locations throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut between the hours of9 AM and 6 PM. Please visit NBCNewYork.com/fooddrive to access a map of food donation locations.
“As we head into the summer months, our food donations tend to diminish based on vacations and schools being out, so just when the need is greatest for the children we serve, it’s a time when we get fewer donations. We’re grateful that this tri-state food drive provides much-needed replenishment to our food pantries and raises awareness that hunger doesn’t take a vacation,” said Barbara Scholz, Fulfill Advocacy and Program Director.
Last year more than 120 tons of non-perishable goods were donated from NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 viewers on a single day in 2017, enough to help provide more than 900,000 meals to families in need. This year’s goal is One Million Meals!
To participate in the food drive, just shop at any Stop & Shop location in Monmouth & Ocean Counties in Saturday, April 28th between 9AM and 6 PM.
