Freida Davis of Toms River said, “I take care of my four grandchildren. I am disabled and on a fixed income. This helps me feed them.”
Davis was one of our neighbors who received some of the 8,000 meals provided by Fulfill over a two-day “Pop Your Trunk” Food Distribution for the 4th of July this summer in our Neptune location and at Fulfill’s People’s Pantry at The B.E.A.T. Center in Toms River. The boxes included all the holiday favorites to make their Independence Day barbeques special… corn on the cob, watermelon, hamburgers, hotdogs, mustard, ketchup, chips, rolls, and soda.
“My husband passed away, so this helps. We appreciate Fulfill a lot. Having a nice 4th of July helps me celebrate him. He was a veteran. I couldn’t do it without Fulfill,” said Millie Pape of Waretown.
“It has helped tremendously. I’m 72, and he’s 73. Our health has taken a turn, so financially things get tight,” said Benita Foresta of Forked River, who was in the car with her brother, Rosario.
A special thanks to our private donors and generous sponsors, which include the PNC Foundation, the Jules L. Plangere, Jr. Family Foundation, Subaru of America, Inc. and Subaru retailers in our community. Their financial contributions have made it possible for Fulfill to provide nourishing meals to our neighbors in need during this period of increased demand.
