Neptune, NJ. The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties’ Humanitarian Gala, was held at the Navesink Country Club on Friday, March 11, 2016, and featured music from Motor City Revue.
The outstanding humanitarians this year, who exhibited extraordinary loyalty and commitment toward helping those in need, were honored for their contributions to the community. The 2016 Honorees included: Stop & Shop, The Jersey Strong Foundation, The Schreiber Family, WBI Investments, Inc., Jr. Humanitarian, Andrew Beer, and Agency Partner, Reformation Community Food Pantry.
“This year’s Gala was truly magical and a huge success with funds raised and matched by generous donors in the room, supporting 1 million meals for our neighbors in need,” said Linda Keenan, Development Director. “Guests enjoyed slight-of-hand tricks by a magician during cocktail hour, shopped for some exciting auction gifts, including a private yacht tour of New York and dinner for eight prepared by FoodBank Chef, Ray Cattley, in the FoodBank Organic Garden. They also had a chance to honor a group of Humanitarians who inspired others to get more involved in their community and to start immediately.” Junior Humanitarian, Andrew Beer, received a standing ovation for his commitment to local charities and for creating homemade carnival games that bring families out for fun and donations in the summer, on behalf of the FoodBank.
The FoodBank’s mission is to alleviate hunger and build food secure communities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. 96 cents of every dollar goes directly to food and programs.
