The Faces of Fulfill – Sharron and Shanise Browne

the browne sisters

These sisters from Ocean County are BOTH graduates of Fulfill’s Culinary Training Program at the B.E.A.T. Center in Toms River.

Sharron (on left) is legally blind. She had to leave her executive position in health care after she had a debilitating stroke requiring her to learn to walk again. When she got out of her wheelchair, she joined Fulfill’s Culinary Training Program. She was the valedictorian of her class and graduated with perfect attendance!

With the skills she learned at Fulfill, Sharron now owns her own successful catering business called “Wish Catering”. Sharron says, “When I started this program, I was a little nervous because I was handicapped, but it allowed me to be independent again doing something I love.”

Sharon convinced her sister Shanise (on right) to join Fulfill’s Culinary Training Program because she hated her job and saw it as a dead end. After completing Fulfill’s 13-week hands-on culinary class, Shanise got a job as a cook at Lakewood High School. She was quickly promoted to Lead in the Kitchen!

Shanise tells us, “The program really helped me out through a lot of tough times. When I came to this program, everything just really changed for me. I ended up getting a really good job. Everything really changed.”
